EABC Members Trained on Fundraising and Marketing

The East African Business Council, with support from the Federation of German Industries (BDI), organized a training seminar on marketing and fundraising on 4th - 6th July, 2017 at Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) Conference Hall in Kampala, Uganda.

The 3 day seminar attracted over 50 delegates comprising of C.E.Os, Directors, Membership Officers, Event Organizers and Business Development Managers working with business associations in particular, EABC National Focal Points and sector associations of Engineers, Tourism, Freight,  Insurance, Investment Authorities and Manufacturers among others.
The seminar was officially opened by Mr. Kassim Omar, EABC Chairman who emphasized on importance of business associations to building collaborations and self-sustainability.

The participants gained knowledge on development of Income Generating such as Information Services, Trainings and Cooperation services where business associations act as intermediaries”, buying inputs for their members or selling their products.

The facilitators Ms. Patricia Addy from Ghana and Ms. Cynthia Foly, Director International Economic Affairs VBW, Germany shared best practices in fundraising from West Africa and Europe. The seminar enabled lively exchange of ideas and an opportunity to strengthen EABC as a network by building collaborations and knowledge in mobilizing the potential resources for better advocacy initiatives and services to members in the future.

The training seminar was hosted by Uganda Manufacturers Association.
