EABC CEO Mr. John Bosco Kalisa joined EAC Secretary-General Hon. Dr. Peter Mathuki to flag off of the Great African Cycling Safari. This Cycling tour will officially kick off on 1st August, 2021 to 25th September 2021, for a period of 55 days under the theme  “Experience Africa, Integrate Humanity”.
In his remarks, EABC CEO, Mr. Kalisa commended cyclists for promoting East Africanism – Unity, Peace, Trade and the collective Development of the EAC bloc.


He reiterated EABC’s commitment to partner and support the event by engaging EABC members and the business leaders to join in the cycling races, offer sponsorships, in-kind donations as part of corporate social responsibility.
He noted that as the Cyclists cross and reach key borders points, EABC shall organize Public-Private Dialogues with Trade Facilitation Agencies at the One-Stop Borders to assess the barriers on the movement of people, services and goods.
He urged the youth to participate in the EAC integration agenda through cross-border trade and opportunities availed by the EAC Common Market. He further urged industries in the region to join hands and strengthen regional value chains in order to take advantage of the African Continental Free Trade Area market of 1.3 billion consumers.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Peter Mathuki, flagged off the event and praised the cyclist for being East African Heros by bravely taking the  East African Integration agenda to the people of East Africa.
