The four-day workshop brought together over 25 representatives from Business Membership Organisations (BMOs), Government Agencies, the East African Community (EAC), and  Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) to strengthen their capacity to use trade intelligence and market access information to support in identifying export opportunities, analysing market conditions and navigating increasingly complex trade requirements. The initiative seeks to promote the export competitiveness of MSMEs and strengthen their capacity to participate in high-potential export value chains across the EAC and beyond.

Speaking on behalf of the EABC Executive Director during the opening of the workshop, EABC emphasised that sound market analysis and reliable trade-related information are the foundation for competitive trade decisions.

The workshop strengthened their ability to analyse trade flows, identify potential export markets, assess tariffs and other market access conditions, monitor SPS and TBT notifications, and better understand non-tariff measures affecting businesses in regional and international markets.
