EVENT LOGISTIC NOTE & FAQ

All interested participants are invited to register online at www.eabc-online.com/businesssummit in order to attend the East African Business & Investment Summit on 31st August to 1st September 2023 at the Speke Munyonyo Resort in Kampala Uganda.

Participation in this prestigious event carries no registration fee for accredited delegates. Kindly note that the accreditation process is essential, and the East African Business Council (EABC) retains the prerogative to grant delegate accreditations.

Following registration, we will send you an accreditation code via email that will give you access to all conference sessions, B2B, visit to exhibition, tea and lunch during the 2-day East African Business and Investment Summit.

Delegates are required to cater for their own Air-Travel and Accommodation costs in order to participate in the High Level East African Business and Investment Summit slated on 31st August -1st September 2023.

All visitors traveling to the Republic of Uganda are advised to:

  1. Hold a Passport with a validity of not less than 6 months at the time of application for the visas
  2. Apply for visas prior to travel for all those countries that require entry visas to the Republic of Uganda: https://immigration.go.ug/services/tourist-visa
  3. Delegates from countries that do not have reciprocal visa exemption arrangements with the Republic of Uganda are advised to apply for visas online at https://visas.immigration.go.ug/ and will receive an approval notification after which the visas will be endorsed in their passports at the point of entry.
  1. Have proof of Yellow Fever Vaccination at the point of entry into Uganda.
  1. Have proof of COVID-19 Vaccination or valid Negative PCR Test taken 72 hours before arrival into Republic of Uganda.
  2. Delegates are also advised to visit https://www.immigration.go.ug/, https://www.health.go.ug/ and https://www.mofa.go.ug/ for additional travel information.

Currency and Banking:

  • Currency: The official currency in Uganda is the Ugandan Shilling (UGX). Carry some local currency for small expenses and convenience.
  • Exchange foreign currency at the Airport Forex Bureaus or the Bank during working hours (08:00hrs-17:00hrs)
  • Banking: ATMs are widely available in major cities and towns. Credit cards are accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and larger establishments. Inform your bank about your travel plans to avoid any issues with card usage.

Local Customs and Etiquette:

  • Respect local customs and traditions. Ugandans are generally friendly and hospitable, so reciprocate their kindness.
  • Ask for permission before taking photographs of individuals or sensitive locations.
