The East African Business Council (EABC) is pleased to extend an invitation to you to participate in the 21st African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) Private Sector Forum, organized by the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) in collaboration with the U.S. Institute of Peace and the Department of Commerce. This significant event will take place both in person and online on July 24, 2024. Register Now.

As the premier organization focused exclusively on promoting greater U.S.-African business partnerships, CCA is delighted to host this year’s forum under the theme “Setting the Stage for the Next Phase in the U.S.-Africa Trade and Investment Partnership.” This theme recognizes the important developments such as the continued advance of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA), the introduction of African Union programs to support manufacturing in sectors like automotive and health care, and global shifts in manufacturing to improve supply chain security. These developments underscore the crucial role of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) in bolstering trade and investment ties between the U.S. and Africa, especially as AGOA’s current authorization expires in 2025.

The Private Sector Forum will provide critical input for the official ministerial meetings scheduled to take place in Washington on July 25-26. Alongside the civil society forum, the Private Sector Forum will be instrumental in shaping the future of U.S.-Africa trade relations.

We hope you can join us from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM on July 24, 2024, at the U.S. Institute of Peace, 2301 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington DC. For those unable to attend in person, virtual participation is also available.
