EABC partners with EAC, MSTCDC and other partners to hold the inaugural AfCFTA Youth Day 2022 and Launching of YouLead Summit 2022 processes in a double event planned – 9th Nov 2022

EABC is among other key partners working towards the Commemoration of the AfCFTA Youth Day and Launching of 2022YouLead 2022 in a Hybrid double event.

Since 2021, the EABC has joined the partnership with EAC and MSTCDC/YouLead to promote the youth in business agenda in the EAC and on the African continent through creative youth led structures such as the Under 40 Business Entrepreneurs Network and the Independent Continental Youth Advisory Council on AfCFTA (ICOYACA)

It’s against this backdrop that support  from ITC, EABC and partners will be celebrating the first ever AFCFTA  Youth Day and officially launching the process of participation and preparations for the 6th edition of YouLead Summit (2022).

November 2022 is referred as the African Youth month which is dedicated under  African Union Calender. This year’s YouLead Summit’s theme is “Digital Access and Future of Work”.  Among others, high level speakers will include H.E Jakaya Kikwete, former President of Tanzania, also Patron of YouLead, H.E. Fatoumata Tambajang, former Vice-President in the Republic of The Gambia, Hon. Dr. Peter Mathuki, Secretary-General of the East African Community, Ms. Makena Mwobobia, Executive Director, MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation, Ms. Angelina Ngalula, Board Chairperson, East African Business Council . The objectives of  the Twin Celebrations are;

  • Share successes on youth in business initiatives and explore more on how youth of Africa can work with relevant stakeholders to promote participation in the AfCFTA processes.
  • Share information on the upcoming YouLead Summit (2022) planned take place on 12-16 December 2022 in Arusha Tanzania and elaborate on how the private sector, government and other stakeholders can get involved in the summit, share partnership opportunities and solicit support from stakeholders for a successful YouLead Summit.

Expected speakers for the 9th November double event are from governments, ITC, AfCFTA Secretariat, MSCTCDC,EAC, EABC,UNDP, UNECA among others.
