The problems of pollution are not limited to the borders of a country as harmful effects extend beyond the borders of the originator of the pollution. According to the World Bank Report (2020), waste generation is rising. It is estimated that the world generates 2.24 billion tonnes of solid waste equivalent to a footprint of 0.79 kilograms per person per day. With rapid urbanization and population growth, annual waste generation is expected to increase by 73% from 2020 levels to 3.88 billion tonnes in 2050. The EABC Secretariat is steadfast to promote better coordination of private sector interventions and investments in circular economy in the EAC region.
In view of the above, the East African Business Council (EABC) in partnership with GIZ is pleased to invite you to take part in the CEO RoundTable on International Day of Zero Waste 2023 under the theme “Promoting Private Sector Investment in Waste Management & Circular Economy to Achieve 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Growth and Development” on 29th -30th March 2023 at Salinero Hotel in Moshi, Kilimanjaro.
During the CEO RoundTable on International Day of Zero Waste experts will present on Unlocking the Circular Economy and Zero Waste Opportunities in Manufacturing and Agriculture Sector in EAC.
