The AfCFTA Agreement is a framework agreement, with comprehensive coverage of Trade in Goods, Trade in Services, Investment, Competition Policy, Intellectual Property Rights, Women and Youth in Trade, and Digital Trade as well as Rules and Procedures for the Settlement of Disputes despite the commencement of trading under the AfCFTA on 1st January 2021.

As a follow up on the recommendations and action plan from the 1st coordination meeting of the Heads of Regional
Economic Communities on the implementation of AfCFTA in Accra meeting, the East African Business Council with
support from TradeMark East Africa through the Public Private Sector Dialogue project is convening EABC-SADC-COMESA Business Council Consultative Meeting on Implementation of the AfCFTA.  The meeting will also
deliberate on the RECs engagement framework under AfCFTA and the African Business Council.
