The launch of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is seen by the private sector as a huge opportunity to drive Africa from a low 15% intra-African trade to even 40%. The main objective of the AfCFTA is to create a single continental market for goods and services. To be fully implemented in 2030 the AfCFTA will create a single market with a collective GDP of USD3.4 trillion and 1.3 billion people.

Tanzania is among seven African countries which were chosen by AfCFTA Secretariat to start trading provisionally under the AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative. The initiative among others aims to guide shipment through customs clearance, test and establish the trade, legal and environmental policy basis for intra-African trade, and also identify companies, goods, customs procedures and logistic processes necessary for effective trade.

In view of the above, EABC in collaboration with Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) and Confederation of Tanznia Industries (CTI) and in partnership with GIZ-SEAMPEC II invites you to the Private Sector National Workshop on AfCFTA slated on 15th – 16th February 2023 at Four Point by Sheraton in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The workshop aims to improve knowledge of the EAC Private Sector Players on AfCFTA Agreement and (Trade in Goods & its annexes) in order to take advantage of the AfCFTA opportunities and propose solutions to emerging challenges.
