Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 21 August 2026: Eighteen Tanzanian service-sector firms developed and refined their Services Export Strategies, strengthening their export readiness and identifying new customers and business opportunities across East Africa, Africa and international markets following the three-day Coaching Workshop on Export of Services, organised by the East African Business Council (EABC) under the EAC-EU-GIZ LIFTED Project, held from 19th–21st August 2026 in Dar es Salaam.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Sagoh Djete, Programme Manager for Regional Cooperation and Infrastructure at the EU Delegation to Tanzania and the EAC, highlighted the growing contribution of services to Africa’s economic transformation and the importance of reliable market information in enabling businesses to access international markets.
On her part, Ms. Estella Eryada, GIZ Component Lead – Trade in Services, emphasised the importance of moving firms from export ambition to practical market-entry strategies.
The coaching strengthened the firms’ understanding of market intelligence, digital visibility, regulatory compliance, financing and international partnerships, equipping them with practical tools to improve competitiveness, identify potential clients and partners, and expand their services beyond Tanzania.
Facilitated by Ms. Agatha Nderitu, Managing Director of Afro-Trade and Enterprise Advisory Services (ATEAS Ltd), the coaching enabled the selected firms to assess their firm-specific export potential, priority markets, customer demand, competition, regulatory requirements, market accessibility and internal capacity, helping them develop practical market-entry approaches and reduce the risks associated with entering new markets.
The coaching enabled the firms to identify new markets and customers, strengthen export compliance, improve digital visibility, develop international partnerships and prepare practical strategies to convert export opportunities into actual services-export transactions.
Following the coaching, EABC will continue supporting the firms through market linkages and B2B matchmaking to facilitate new partnerships, access international clients and generate sustainable services-export opportunities.
