Kampala, Uganda 2nd July 2026: The East African Business Council (EABC) participated in a regional capacity-building programme on Artificial Intelligence for Trade Promotion Organizations, held in Kampala, Uganda, from 30 June to 2 July 2026. The training, organized under EU-EAC MARKUP II Programme.
The masterclass convened over 40 trade promotion organisations from across the region to explore how digitalisation and AI can strengthen trade promotion services. Sessions covered practical applications such as AI-powered market intelligence, exporter database management, buyer matching, and trade documentation support, alongside discussions on AI implementation roadmaps, data governance, and institutional readiness.
The training enhanced EABC’s digital capacity to deliver better tech-enabled support to members, including:
- Faster access to trade and investment information, market intelligence, and regulatory updates to inform business decisions.
- AI-powered buyer matching to connect businesses across the region with potential partners.
