Arusha, Tanzania – 4th June 2026: The Belgian Ambassador to Tanzania, H.E. Peter Huyghebaert, paid a courtesy visit to the East African Business Council (EABC) Secretariat in Arusha, Tanzania.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss strengthening collaboration in trade, investment, and private sector development between Belgium and the East African Community (EAC). Key areas of discussion included investment promotion, digital trade, green economy initiatives, and enhancing business linkages between the Belgian and East African private sectors.
Mr. Ahmed Farah, EABC Executive Director, highlighted that the upcoming East Africa CEO & Investment Forum 2026 offers an opportunity for a delegation of Belgian investors to explore investment ready opportunities and projects across the EAC bloc.
The visit has laid the cornerstone for deepening trade and investment ties, strengthening economic cooperation, and advancing regional integration in East Africa
