Arusha, Tanzania – 4 June 2026: The East African Business Council (EABC) participated in the Stakeholders Event organized by Lufthansa Group and Brussels Airlines to celebrate the launch of Brussels Airlines’ new service to Kilimanjaro International Airport.

The launch of the new route marks an important milestone in enhancing air connectivity between East Africa and Europe, while strengthening tourism, trade, and investment ties within the region.

Speaking during the event held at Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha, Mr. Ahmed Farah, the EABC Executive Director commended Brussels Airlines for expanding its footprint in East Africa and reaffirmed the private sector’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote regional integration, business growth, and tourism development.

EABC noted that improved connectivity will facilitate movement of business travelers, tourists, and cargo, thereby contributing to economic growth and competitiveness of the East African Community (EAC) region.

The event brought together the aviation stakeholders, tourism players, and members of the private sector to celebrate the new route and explore opportunities for deeper collaboration.
