EABC Receives Support From BDI to Deepen EAC Economic Integration
Arusha, Tanzania: January 7, 2019: A stronger East African Business Council makes a better case for economic integration in the EAC, this is the rationale for the EABC -BDI Partnership.
This partnership will strengthen the implementation of deeper economic integration on a regional and national level. The technical and financial supports of over 387.000 Euros will strengthen EABC advocacy efforts in a bid to represent the interest of the private sector in the EAC integration process.
The partnership will also strengthen EABC’s collaboration with its National Focal Points, support dialogues with the EAC and increase visibility and reputation of the EABC.
The Federation of German Industries (BDI) is the leading organization of German industry and industry-related service providers. It represents 40 industry associations and more than 100,000 companies with around 8 million employees. Membership is voluntary. A total of 15 state representations represent the interests of the economy at the regional level. Headquarters of the BDI is in the Haus der Deutschen Wirtschaft (house of the German economy) in Berlin; Between 1950 and 1999 this was in the House of German Industry in Cologne.
